Hair Care

Sleeping:

NEVER SLEEP ON WET HAIR. Make sure your hair is completely dry before you go to bed. It is also recommended to wrap your hair or gently tie it up with a silk scarp or bonnet to prevent tangling.Do not go to bed with wet hair.  NEVER SLEEP ON LOOSE WET HAIR.  As you move your head about on the pillow, the wet hair rubs in opposite directions (like NON-REMY HAIR) and becomes tangled beyond repair.  (It your hair should get wet...braid it up before retiring)

Sleeping:

Silky, the Cap – GREAT for this hair! Prevents breakage, drying, and brittle hair – makes hair silky and shiny

Shampoo:

Be sure to wash the hair in one downward direction. NEVER massage hair into a pile on top of your head; this will tangle the hair.  Gently lift the tracks up and massage your scalp and your own hair. Rinse hair thoroughly to prevent buildup.

Pre-Shampoo / Co-Washing

Before washing the hair, spray mixture of conditioner and water onto the hair and carefully comb the hair starting from the bottom and working your way up, using a wide tooth comb.  This will remove any possible tangles before washing.

You must gradually wet the hair down and comb it gently before you completely wash the hair.  If the hair is very dry and a lot of water is added at once, hair will swell up like a sponge and tangle! Therefore, it is important to gradually wet the hair and comb it.

Combing and brushing wet hair can cause it to stretch and break.   If you shampoo your hair yourself, you may find it is easier to shampoo your hair in the shower so you can hold your head back under the water and keep the hair ends going in their natural direction; thus preventing tangles.   When you wash your hair, start at the top (near the scalp) and gently squeeze the hair downward.  Do not wring or rub the hair in opposite directions.

Wet hair completely with warm water. Make sure you lift your hair at the roots, especially in the back, so the water can soak your scalp, where oil and dirt collect.
